Darp Hane-i Amire Buildings No. 2 and 4
Project Details
Dated to the 17th century, Darphane-i Amire is located in the 1st courtyard of Topkapı Palace on a sloping land surrounded by walls in the northwest direction of Hagia Irene Church. Darphane-i Amire is a production complex consisting of the Mint Office, Foundry, Molding Workshop-Cookhouse, Row Rooms, Coin and Printing House, Darphane-i Amire Pavilion, Wheel House, Coin Shop, Stamp Printing House, and additional buildings around the courtyards. The buildings were built between 1809-1839 during the reign of Mahmut II.
Güryapı started the Restoration of buildings No. 2 (Foundry) and No. 4 (Row Rooms) in December 2021. The Foundry building is a rectangular 2-storey masonry building. The Foundry building is a rectangular 2-storey masonry building. The Row Rooms consist of 6 rooms lined up side by side and a small back courtyard.
Within the scope of the Restoration, structural reinforcement, stone, brick works, roof works, joint, plaster works, facade cleaning, wooden joinery manufacturing, repair of iron elements, hand drawings, electrical and mechanical manufacturing were carried out in line with the static report.
