Project Details
The building, which is used as Marmara University Rectorate Building, is located in the south of At Square and was built as Mekteb-i Sanayi (1866-1868) and the adjacent Janissary Museum (1899). Italian Architect Raimondo D'Aronco's Mekteb-i Sanayi in Neo-Ottoman style and the Janissary Museum in Ottoman baroque style have 4 floors and a total usage area of 5316 m2.
Suffered from disaster throughout its history, the building got the severest damage and was repaired after the 1894 earthquake, and after the repair in 1940, it burned down and was repaired again.
